The UKs National Co-ordinating Centre for Public Engagement (NCCPE) has agreed to become an
associate partner of the SHEFCE project.
NCCPE has an international reputation for inspiring and supporting universities to engage with the
public. The NCCPE is funded by UK Research and Innovation, the devolved Higher Education funding
bodies, and Wellcome. NCCPE’s vision is of a higher education sector making a vital, strategic and
valued contribution to 21st-century society through its public engagement activity.
The SHEFCE team held a meeting with NCCPE on 7 June 2021 to discuss the proposed idea for the
community engagement platform and heatmap. The NCCPE team agreed to become an associate
partner to the project and to provide feedback and take part in further conversations about the project
and its outputs.
